TriCare
Sep 30th, 2009 | By phil | Category: HealthTriCare is a recognised leader in aged care in Australia, operating thirteen residential aged care nursing centres, four hostels and six retirement villages across south east Queensland. They also operate one retirement village in Melbourne.
As part of their ongoing commitment to providing the very best in resident care, in February 2009, TriCare sought to install a resident alert system in a new aged care facility that would allow them to monitor residents no matter where they were in that facility. TriCare also wanted to provide residents with the ability to raise an alert from any location, not just the bedroom.
“We supplied and recommended an IP based solution that provides easy access in the case of an emergency,” said Surecom’s Managing Director Ash Hanna.
“We integrated Surecom’s IP NurseCall solution with AeroScout Wireless Tags and MobileView Software, SureSoft’s RMB.Net (for management and monitoring) and Alert Management System software solutions, the BQT Access control card system (for building access and intruder detection) and IP camera surveillance (for building security).
“The Surecom fully integrated solution is wireless and intuitive. Unlike other solutions that are offered by our competitors, ours can triangulate the resident’s location to within meters of where they are located in the facility.
“Being able to monitor and manage the systems across the IP network streamlines things. Plus, by combining technologies we avoid having disparate legacy systems.
“We are proud to be working with TriCare to revolutionise the way aged care is delivered,” said Ash Hanna. “Despite the size and complexity of such a project, we are also proud to deliver it on time and on budget.”
TriCare are currently considering upgrading existing sites to the Surecom integrated solution.
