NurseCall
Traditional Nurse Call systems only allow for the resident or patient to press a button at the bed side or at a given point within the complex when they require assistance. The use of wireless technology and RFID gives the resident or patient the ability to alert for assistance where ever they are throughout the facility. Whether the resident or patient is lying on the floor, out in the garden, sitting in the lounge room or in the dining room they will be able to press an alert button or tag that they wear on a lanyard or wrist band and receive the assistance that they require.
These tags are IP 65 (water & dust rated) allowing each resident the ability to alert for assistance where ever they are in the facility. Management and care givers can go to any computer monitor and locate residents within 3 – 5 metres allowing staff greater visibility throughout the facility.
Surecom’s NurseCall solutions provide the name and room number of the resident, their current location and time of alert, via LCD monitors situated throughout the facility, when a resident presses their nurse call tag for attention. Furthermore, the solution will create a time based escalation process to ensure that minimum care level standards are maintained.
Tracking software is specifically designed to locate an RFID tag anywhere in the facility and to monitor all events regardless of the event. Tracking software together with RFID software creates a critical layer of business logic to this system. Resident location information received from the RFID software delivers sophisticated mapping, rules-based alerting and reporting functions in a scalable, enterprise-proven software platform. Customers can apply their own rules and business logic to location information, truly leveraging their positioning data for efficient and intuitive applications in many different ways. Customers can utilise location data to track, alert, manage and integrate from a single site to multiple sites.
Staff tags provide a range of benefits that traditional nurse call systems do not provide. These benefits include:
- As with a resident alerting for attention, staff can press their tags for assistance from other staff.
- The system will display staff presence which will display the current location of staff members.
- The system will be able to determine which staff member responded to a resident alert, how long it took to attend to a resident and how long it took to clear the resident alert.
- Management can utilise these functions in their resource planning processes, as well as to measure resident satisfaction and identify residents that require additional care.
